Lyn Nicholson has over 25 years of experience advising in privacy related matters, including product design in the credit reporting, fintech and MedTech areas where the application of law to emerging technologies and their uses in sometimes unanticipated ways has been a feature of the work. Lyn has acted for several clients in responding to regulator inquiries and consequently assisting them to establish privacy compliant processes, including in relation to facial detection and facial recognition technology. This experience positions her well to provide legal advice to the trial as she has both deep and broad experience of privacy and technology related areas of law and policy. Her experience in governance, and as an independent auditor of enforceable undertakings given by companies to regulators such as ASIC, the ACCC and the RBA, speaks to her ability to interrogate processes, provide clear recommendations to assist compliance and identify the necessary steps to meet legal and regulatory obligations.
