Progress update

The Age Assurance Technology Trial has now concluded. The final report – comprising ten volumes, including individual assessments of each age assurance method evaluated – has been submitted to the Australian Government.

As part of the process, feedback was received on relevant matters from the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts, the eSafety Commissioner and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. The evolving findings were also discussed with the Stakeholder Advisory Board. We have carefully considered this input, building on the interim conclusions released earlier. These final findings are supported by further analysis of the extensive data collected through the Trial’s multiple evaluation streams.

We would like to thank all participating suppliers. Each was given an opportunity to review any section of the report that refers to them directly, ensuring procedural fairness.

The timing of publication is a matter for the Australian Government. Once the final report is released, we will be available to answer questions about the Trial and its findings. We also anticipate that the Stakeholder Advisory Board will review the published report, and members will be invited to share their views on the Trial website – both on the findings and the overall process.
